Most of the U.S. is battling smoke-filled air today. The photo on the left is what the sky looked like when I left work- the sun barely coming through. The photo on the right was taken when I got home. Thanks to living on top of a mountain our air quality is slightly better- but take note- the sky is still the same color. It's been very difficult for me to breath today, so all the windows are closed and I've been outside only for as long as it takes me to get in and out of the places I'm going to- home and work. My heart goes out to those closest to the fires- they are suffering far worse than I am.
Your pictures really show what I've been reading in the news. I wondered how hot it is and what people do without air conditioning if they have to keep their windows closed (we never had ac when I lived in New Jersey but that was a long time ago.) I hope you stay safe and the air gets clearer soon for everyone effected.
Fortunately, it hasn’t reached us, but I know how devastating it can be to others, especially when trying to breathe. your photo collage tells the story nicely
Great shot of the sun. I feel so badly for the people, and especially the animals who are helpless. I do not think the smoke smell will ever leave my nose. It is just awful!
@radiogirl I have been thinking about you and your active group- I'm sure you've had to curtail the things you do and I've wondered if you're in a good spot and not in harm's way. My prayers go out to so many who are in far worse shape than I am.
@joansmor That's pretty amazing- I thought you'd have it even worse than us- but maybe it blows by quickly and then lands down here!
Thank you one and all- it was a little bit better today and should continue to improve over the next few days. Wishing you all good health no matter where you are!
A sad situation, hope it will bee better soon😢
Yes , the man sitting in front of the sign.
The air quality is not good, we have fires burning all around us!
