There are little trinkets of love scattered all over my house. I began taking photos of some of them (a sun catcher from my sons when they were in high school, a picture of Jeff and I on our wedding day, some beautiful jewelry Jeff has given me over the years) with the idea that I would make a collage of them when two things flashed through my mind. The first was an ornament my granddaughter made for me this year to put on my Christmas tree. And the second was one of those books you can record yourself reading that I had made for Leigh and Sam. Ah- there's a great example of love! Those precious things that Leigh and I exchanged this Christmas; things that were truly a part of ourselves that we were giving to each other. I've looked at my ornament every day and smiled. And I have been told Leigh listens to the book at least 10 times a day!
@sarasdadandmom Thank you Terry! It's definitely a keepsake picture of two keepsakes! @digitalrn Thanks Rick- they truly are! @mrssmith Thank you Carla! After she opened the book, she "read" it five times in a row! Even I was getting tired of hearing myself haha!
@alia_801 Thanks Alia- I don't know if I'll be able to pack this one away when the tree comes down. It might have to find another place to hang until next Christmas!
oozing with love, i tell you. that trinket is so beautiful so no, you can't pack it away. maybe hang it by the window just like you would a sun catcher. and your little granddaughter looks precious. i need to find out more about the book though so i can have one for the grands. what a lovely collage, ann.
@summerfield Thank you Summerfield. Hallmark makes them and there are several. The one I bought was A Charlie Brown Christmas. They're very easy to do and they have a way to lock the buttons so the child doesn't accidently record over your reading. There's probably an online Hallmark store where you can see what titles are available and possibly even order them. And yes, I'm not sure where it's going to hang, but this ornament will be staying out for the year!
@woot Thank you Davide!
