E

The first purely alphabetic writing is thought to have been developed around 1850 BCE for Semitic workers in the Sinai. Over the next 5 centuries it spread north, and all subsequent alphabets around the world have either descended from it, or been inspired by one of its descendents.
Totally cool photo . . and what an interesting piece of info. Did not know that it came from the Sinai.
