@peterdegraaff I have no idea Peter! It's in the woods and just hanging there. @karenann Thank you Karenann. What can I say, the Poconos are a bit strange. And I can say that because I was not born here!
Kind of like that birdhouse I posted with the license plate for the roof on it. I like the red handle. That's the only thing that sticks out! Otherwise, it's completely camouflage!
Great photo Ann, really like how the red handle contrasts with the color of the tree bark. First thing that came to mind was this photo would be a good starter for a short story written by a Middle School Language Arts class. Show the students the photo and let their imagination take over.
@prttblues Thanks Bev! What date was that? I will have to go back and refresh my memory because I think I remember it, but don't trust my memory! @rhubbard Thanks Rich! You're right that would be a fun picture for students to write a story about- at any age! @httpgeffed lol Colleen! @kerristephens Thanks Kerri- yes the things I see driving around here are odd indeed. @gennygenny Thanks Genny- it certainly does! @eudora Thanks Diane- that red handle is what helped me to see it- otherwise it blends in completely. @kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi! @dmariewms lol Marie- I think you're right!!
When you drive to the coast from Canberra there is one stretch of highway that has teddy bears hanging on a lot of trees. Not sure why and how it started but it is fun to try and spot them. Cool find.
@nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! Your story reminds me of a spot in the state of New Jersey (where I used to live)- someone had climbed a string of telephone poles along the highway and mounted all these unusual objects on top of them- a stuffed toy alien, a kettle, a flamingo, a Halloween pumpkin, and other assorted oddities! There were about 20 altogether. Who knows why they felt compelled to do that- and how many people never noticed those things were up there!
@summerfield lol I don't think a spy would be too happy rummaging through my trash- it's just not that interesting. As far as this crazy thing, all he/she would discover is that a lot of strange people live in this area! haha
I always say red brings out the other colors in a picture..but in this case. well I sure don't know.. maybe someone uses it as a walking stick and hangs it back up there on his return.
@bruni Thanks Bruni- it's just bizzare. First I found a bicycle seat stuck on a guard rail. Then I found the hub cap hanging in the bush. Now this. There are definitely some strange people in this area!
