Not too far up the road from my "Grand Old Lady" is another empty farm with a massive brown barn. I stopped off there last Saturday to wander around the property and take pictures of the barn and farm house. This was an eye catcher as I headed back to the car. There's always that "one last shot" I have to take even though I know it's time to leave!
Love the lighting and shadow on this one! The textures are wonderful and the whole composition is great. It's always the very first or the very last shot that seems to work for me. In between, it's sort of "ho-hum!" Don't know if that's when the mind is thinking TOO MUCH! And not relaxed enough to let photos present themselves.
@steeler Thanks for catching up with me Howard! I truly appreciate the views and comments! @eudora Thanks Diane! It was a good one to stop and catch. @karenann Thanks Karenann! I think for me it becomes more of an oooohhh and aaaaahhh session. And it's one of the reasons I'm glad you can take so many digitally! I'll stand in one spot and shoot off 30 pictures before I know it! (At the barns that is- not for everything) I think if I had a camera that demanded more thought as far as settings go, I might have some struggles but for now the little p & s can do what it can do, and I know what I can take with it, so I click happily away! And don't panic, I do end up deleting a lot too!
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri! @mrssmith Thanks Carla! Oh yes, we'd go to some circular ones, a few covered bridges and then on to the abandoned ones. We'd be on an adventure for months!! @rhubbard Thanks Rich! @annaluceya Thanks Anna! @kimmistephens Thanks Kimmi!
Thank you all so much for your views and thoughts. I always look forward to seeing what you have to say about the day's shots.
@sangwann Thank you Dione! I so appreciate all your views and comments. How different are the places we live, yet it's so interesting to see each other's world!
Poor old thing - I wonder how many loads it carried before it aged like that. I always have to say 'goodbye and thank you' to old things when I chuck them out....
