I've been taking more photos with my trusty 35mm camera but don't always have the funds to get the pictures processed and transferred to the computer. But I finally was able to do 2 rolls today from my recent stops at the Brown Barn and the Little Bushkill Creek.
One of the things that is so enjoyable about these old barns is the fact that from the road they have one appearance, but when you walk around them, whole new facets of their "personalities" emerge. From the road, the Brown Barn is...brown! But "his" backside is still a lovely weathered red. From the road, "his" silo appears to be crumbling to pieces, but on his backside it's still intact. I just love how the film brought out the richness of color on this shot. The "old boy" still has a lot of life left in him.
@kerristephens Thank you Kerri! @melorac Thank you Carole! Yes, the paint was really peeling on this side but hadn't lost its color yet. @karenann Thank you Karenann. Not really. It's a Kodak 35mm Color Print film shot that was transferred to CD and uploaded to my computer. I edited in Picmonkey only to restore the color the way it appears on film. Very little processing- just a nudge. I realize I forgot to include that on the commentary. I'll have to change that.
@nicolecampbell Thank you Nicole! @sangwann Thank you Dione! @mrssmith Thank you Carla! I intend to keep up with it throughout the year, but it takes awhile for me to get it developed and on to a CD with my extremely tight budget! But I do love film- and my trusty old 35mm!
@summerfield Thanks Vikki! Yes, from the back it looks fine, but in the front, it's crumbling and there's a rather large gaping hole in the roof of the silo. @sarasdadandmom Thanks Terry!
@dmariewms Thanks Marie! These barns really are an adventure to photograph. I wish I was brave enough to venture inside, but I'm just afraid of disturbing the wrong critters! @prttblues Thanks Bev. I'm just being picky with what I shoot so that I don't have a huge expense from it. But you're right. It can be very pricy. I also tell the processing folks to develop the negatives and put the prints on the CD instead of printing them all out.
