I thought I might take a stab at the artist's challenge this week. I don't usually do well with them because of the limited capabilities of my little p & s, but I'm going to see what I can do with what I have just for the challenge of it all. So, here's my first attempt. It's not great, but it's a start.
Thank you so much Rick, Rich, Colleen, Pam, Richard, Dione, Bev (he's a well-known Australian photographer- see the artist's challenge for a link about him and his work) and Dione!
I am encouraged by your encouraging words. I have a few more ideas to test out in the coming days before the deadline.
Haven't had a chance to look up anything on an artist's challenge so not sure what this involves and probably wouldn't have time any way. But, I do love your shot. It is artistic and creative!
This is great just because and I saw Gary's try and this has same feel so you must have hit how that artist dupain works...I need to look up dupain's work and check it out....never heard of him.
@espyetta Thanks MaryBeth. If you go to the discussion thread, there are links posted that will take you to some of his work. He is a well-known Australian photographer who shot in b/w and took mostly "snapshots" of daily life. I want to take a few more- hopefully I'll catch a few before I hit the road.
@summerfield It's supposed to be a quick snap of real life and although Dupain's work was always in focus, I was going for my version of his idea, not an exact copy of it.

@nicolecampbell Thanks Nicole! This was the first try. I'm going to attempt a few more as the week goes on.
