I am not a huge fan of sitting in the balcony at church, but Jeff really likes it. However, I've discovered there is a benefit to climbing those extra stairs and looking out over the congregation. It puts you at the same height as the tops of the stained glass windows, allowing you to take a close-up of the beautiful colors and design. This one reminds me of a kaleidoscope.
@summerfield thanks Vikki! We do have some of the most striking windows as far as colors go. @bkbinthecity thanks Brian! I love our windows and often find myself captured by their vibrant colors. @ididntdoit87 Thanks Hillary! They really are that rich and vibrant.
@eniaral One of the first things I said to Jeff after we visited First Pres. was "It's so wonderful to be in a sanctuary with REAL stained glass windows for a change!" I have always loved them ever since my childhood!
LOL... What a way to spend time in church. I should go just to shoot the windows! Nah...that would be bad wouldn't it? This is a lovely shot! You captured the colors splendidly. Very crisp and clear. Well done!
@prttblues You are funny Bev! haha- no it would only be bad if you were shooting the photos while the pastor was preaching! Before or after the service is fine by me! In fact, it's a pretty common sight to see me wandering around the sanctuary with my camera. @automaticslim Thank you Andy!
