The Garden State by Isaac Witkin

The Grounds for Sculpture has a wide (and I do mean wide!) variety of sculptures. Although my favorites were definitely the whimsical remakes of my favorite Impressionist painters, I did admire some of the modern sculptures as well. This one was strikingly beautiful against the bright blue sky. Witkin chose Zimbabwe black granite to compose it. And as you can see by the different shots, with every step around the sculpture, a new picture emerged.
Wow, this is a fantastic collage showing this amazing sculpture. I have always had this garden in my bucket list. I hear it's beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Very creative sculpture, Ann. The different hues in the granite make it so impressive. You captured it beautifully well.

@salza @eudora @prttblues @twr @sangwann @digitalrn (yes- you would!)

Thank you one and all! I should have done a scale shot to show you how massive this really is- but I think you got the idea.

Cool diptych.

@edie Thank you Edie! Actually this is technically a triptych (3). But who's counting?
July 3rd, 2013
So it is. Do they number them past three or does it just become a collage at that point?
July 3rd, 2013
@edie That's a good question! In all my years studying art history I can't really recall seeing one that had more than three, but then if there was, I think it was called a screen and not a dip or triptych at all.
