Dad on Mount Mansfield by olivetreeann

Dad on Mount Mansfield

This shot was taken back in 1983 during my 35mm film days! We had gone up to visit my father and brought along some good friends to see the beautiful Green Mountains. Dad lived near Stowe, Vt. so on a nice, sunny day we took the cars up to the top of Mount Mansfield (Vermont's tallest mountain I think) and hiked to the peak. I caught Dad taking a rest while the rest of us took in the view. They were better days for him as the deterioration of Parkinson's Disease had yet to surface in his body.

I am grateful that I had a good father. He taught me a lot about the world, being a parent and being myself. I miss him terribly but I am glad he is no longer suffering.

So in honor of one of the best Dads there ever was, Happy Father's Day to all the Dads on 365!
Awesome shot
