Artist: Pandrosion was a 4th century mathematician in Alexandria who is known for developing an approximate method for doubling the cube. Although there is debate on the subject, many current scholars believe that Pandrosion was a woman. If so, she would be an earlier contributor to mathematics than Hypatia.
Title: From a quote by D. H. Lawrence, (9/11/1885-3/2/1930) English novelist, poet, playwright, essayist, literary critic and painter who was concerned with the dehumanizing effects of modernity and industrialisation.
Ours is essentially a tragic age. So we refuse to take it tragically. The cataclysm has happened, we are among the ruins, we start to build up a new little habitat, to have new little hopes. It is rather hard work; there is no smooth road into this future; but we go round, or scramble over the obstacles. We've got to live, no matter how many skies have fallen.
