Winter Vines by onewing

Winter Vines

I am pretty busy at the moment, so short on 365 time with a lot of projects on the go.

This is a photo taken last week when we were out for a birthday lunch with Ian.

The rain has stopped again now but it is still pretty chilly. I think it will be a while before the vines come back to life.
Lovely shot and light.

We seem to be having similar weather atm, but more rain on the way. Most of our vines are as neatly clipped as these, but so many are still being worked on.

They remind me of the Ents in Lord of the Rings. They look like people!

Don't they always look a bit ghostly in winter? Some of the vines in our area have actually been badly affected by the wet conditions.....

They sure look dormant. Opportunity to quality test the previous vintage!

Quite a lot of work there pruning & keeping the vines well cared for. The best place for a vineyard near a restaurant!

Exciting times when the grapes arrive!

@busylady We had vines at our house in Melbourne and in Cyprus but as you say they can get out of control. The grapes were nice on the Melbourne vines but Cyprus ones were quite tart.
