Cottage of Content by onewing

Cottage of Content

I thought I would have another go at a photo for the selective colouring theme.

I just loved the doorway of this old building in Maitland. It was built in 1840 and is now a bed and breakfast place called The Cottage of Content.

I would like to thank you all so much for the fabulous response to my rainbow pencils yesterday and for getting it onto the PP.

I will try and catch up tonight, but I have been out all day today, so got a bit behind again.

Green door, what's that secret your keeping? With over 100 years of history probably would have a few good stories to tell. It's a beautiful door too. No wonder you had to stop for a photo.

@lynnz Yes I remember the song Lyn. (I had an older sister, ha ha). Frankie Vaughan I think it was who sang it.

@ubobohobo Thanks Margaret, I don't think there is an old piano and they play it hot behind this green door though. Hopefully as it says on the wall it is the cottage of content.

@ibt Thanks so much Ilona. It does look a rather grand door doesn't it and I agree the mat makes it. I did SC without the mat being coloured first and then changed my mind and selected that too, it made all the difference.
