I have been challenged by my 365 friend, Lee @gamelee to post landscapes for the three days and to challenge three other 365ers to do the same.
I thought I would like to do scenes from some of our capital cities.
This is day 2 of the challenge and today's photo was taken in Melbourne from the 88th floor of the Eureka Tower, looking down on the city.
Of course, this was taken through glass, because they don't want anybody falling from that height I suppose and that was a bit of a challenge to get a shot without any glare from the glass.
@annied Haven't been to the Sydney Eye yet, would love to. Maybe next time we are in Sydney I will check it out. Not sure David is brave enough though. He wasn't too keen on the Eureka tower, ha ha. Deb and I thought it was fantastic.
@onewing 100% right!!!! In my heart, Sydney will ALWAYS be my home. However I have been in Melbourne now for nearly 15 years and I do really, really like it. Sydney has my heart :)
@pcoulson Thanks Peter. I know my challenge was landscape, but as I live by the ocean most of my shots involve water and the landscape around home is a bit ordinary, so I have opted for cityscapes as my landscape shots for three days. I wanted to involve some of our capital cities. A bit of poetic licence in my interpretation of landscape. ha ha
Great view on Melbourne. Is it a public entrance ? Two of my children live in Melbourne so I may soon visit them again. I will try to get the same view.
Well that's the trouble with landscapes...if you like busy & people they aren't as interesting.....lots to look at here though....lovely to see Melbourne from above!
@onewing 99% of the population in Oz live and play by the sea, when images are this good who can object, I've had a go at the theme of Cityscapes today:)
@kathiecb ha ha, I am sure somebody will come up with the bungee jumping idea before long. Having said that though the lift only takes 38 seconds to travel 88 floors, so I think that may be quicker than travelling by bungee.
@happypat Thanks Pat. I love looking at other people's landscape shots, but where I live the landscape is a little bit boring, which is why I tend to go for either cityscapes, seascapes, or industrial landscapes etc.
@chimfa I went out on the sky deck too. Looking down 88 floors on glass is quite an experience. Deb came out there with me, but guess who was a bit of a chicken. (clue, begins with d and ends with e), ha ha.
