I took this shot on Thursday evening. I had already posted my photo for the day when I noticed smoke in the air. I went down to the beach to get a better view. Apparently they were burning off prior to the bush fire season and this is supposed to be a controlled burn, but this looks a bit out of control to me.
The hazard reduction burn offs were at Medowie and Karuah and I think you can probably see both areas in this photo.

Pretty smoky today too and I think there is a real bushfire close by.
Stunning Babs...fave! I leant a lot about bush fires in that book I have just read...Four Fires! I didn't know bush fires were good for the countryside if not out of control that is!
We have had fire hazard reduction here too this week Babs and it has given for some very intense sunsets but unfortunately I haven't had my camera. This is a fab shot, I like the human element and just the strength of that smoke. fav
