On our trip to Sydney last Friday one of the places we stopped at was the Queen Victoria Building. It still stands proud in the centre of the modern buildings of the city.
Over the next few days I will be posting photos of inside the QVB.
Another hot day here and we were supposed to be going out with our walking group. I decided yesterday though that it was too hot and also this particular walk we have done a few times before, so when a friend phoned up and suggested we meet up for a cuppa and a cake instead of going on the walk it sounded like a much nicer option.
Fantastic building beautifully captured Babs, love the perspective old against the new, whilst Jenny did her window shopping I walked around taking shots inside and out, I was like a child in a sweetshop, lol:)
We were there one Christmas, I fell in love with the building with all its decorations and my friend and I dragged the men back just to see them. Wonderful place, inside and out.
Great shot of this contrasting world. I can remember seeing this when we were in Sydney and thinking I wonder how many of these large modern building will stand as long as the old ones.
I love that old beautiful building, and the way you have taken it here shows just how lovely it is, compared to the modern architecture. Know which one I prefer!
You can't see from this photo just how busy George Street was, both with people and traffic.
David wasn't really in the mood for photography this day so when I stopped to take the photo he didn't realize and wandered off. Thank God for smartphones. He is worse thank kids for disappearing, ha ha. I will be posting photos from inside the QVB for the next few days.
I have taken some shots from inside though, you will see them over the next few days.
Ray does that!
