I have completed my photo book for last year now and am just about to send it off for printing.
That is one project finished, so now I am on to the next one.
David and I are running a U3A photography course this year and we have this terms sessions completed and written up in a Powerpoint presentation and now I am about to start on the 4 sessions for next term.
Another project I have been working on for a long time is my family history story. I have researched family history for years and written up some lines of family already, now I want to pick that project up again. It has been on the back burner for a while because I have had so many other things to do.
As I will be doing a photo book of this years photos I thought I would add some of David's photos in this years book.
One of his interests, along with photography, is astronomy and this week I will be posting some of his astronomical photos taken over the last few years.
Here you can see a partial eclipse of the sun taken a few years ago. If you look closely you can see a couple of sunspots on the sun too.
A terrific image Babs. And boy do you sound like you're going to be a busy bee over the coming months. A family history story sounds like it could be fun, are there any skeletons in your family closet 😀😀 Good luck with your photography course, I'm sure it will be a big success 😊
good to be busy...I've been writing four family history books for years now....one day they will be finished. Keep finding new info...with everything becoming more digitised. Wish you were doing your U3A course a little closer!! Nice photo David
Great photo. I envy your project stream.... You have some great things going on. I just can't get a hold of my To do's. Family history is a big project. I think it will be very rewarding at the end. Have fun with it!
My goodness I'm tired just reading about your projects. Good for you and your husband, staying busy keeps you young! This is a wonderful photo, of course!
Excellent shot and look forward to seeing more of them. I have been working on my family history for many years. I don't think you can ever get to the 'end' of something like that. Will you be posting any shots relating to that on here? I have some great old photos that I have thought about using
Very interesting capture suits black and white February well Babs, I'm also involve with U3A Photography group its so nice to pass on and receive knowledge on your chosen subject from like minded folk:)
I'll be looking forward to David's shots. I would love to learn more about photographing the night sky. Seeing an eclipse like this would be great even without photographing it!
@suesouthwood No you never get to the end of family history. I always keep finding more secrets I didn't know about.
never thought of using any of my family history photos for 365, may give that a go at some point.
@pcoulson The b&w was a perfect choice because this shot was taken with a 100,000 ND filter and you get a colour cast in the image that doesn't give a true colour.
Oh my gosh Babs.... how busy are you... Good luck with the photo course. What a fabulous picture of this eclipse... Other than the very high ND filter Babs, did David have to wear any special eye wear to take this shot? Also I take it the black spots are the sun spots - never heard of them before.
@stephanies Yes you have to wear special eclipse glasses to look at the eclipse of the sun, but because the ND filter is on the lens of the camera and David is looking through that he doesn't need the glasses to take the photo.
Yes the black spots are sunspots, a bit difficult to explain what they actually are on here, but if you google them you will find out.
