The Runner Up

3016 was the runner up in the great train race at the Steamfest on Sunday. It was a very close run race and I think the only reason this train didn't win was because the winner has a straight run and this one had to change tracks just before it came into the station.

It must have been really exciting for the passengers on both trains watching the race as it progressed, while the trains ran parallel.

My favourite - classic steam engine in shiny black. Reminds me of the Railway children. I love the idea of giving them a race - I don't think that happens over here in England.
