Sunshades

I was clearing out some of my drawers and cupboards a few days ago and came across these cocktail umbrellas. I bought them ages ago with the intention of using them for a photo, so here they are.

I just loved all the different colours and as we have had so much sun and very little rain over the last couple of months I think I could do with a real sun umbrella.

I had to figure how to take this photo and David just happened to have a block of polystyrene in the garage from a recent purchase, so I stuck the umbrella sticks in the polystyrene. The only problem was I hate the squeaky sound polystyrene makes and it sets my teeth on edge, like scraping fingernails down a blackboard. I think I will only be doing this once. I need therapy now.

@maggiemae No we have moved on from cocktail parties, that was part of our previous life during our RAF and RAAF years.

@helenhall I really needed to clear out some of my drawers and cupboards and because it was such a hot day I decided to tackle the job in the comfort of air-conditioning.
