I think this is a white faced heron, but not entirely sure. It was walking along in the grass and it amused me that you couldn't see his feet. He just looked as though he was searching for them.

This was taken pretty early in the morning so the light was directly in front of this bird.
This was taken down by the marina at one of our resorts. The grass is regularly watered by bore water which is why it is so green. Unfortunately our house is up the hill a bit from here and we are too high to tap into bore water. We have to pay for ours to water the garden!!!
@kathiecb@gamelee Thanks so much. He was quite close and didn't seem bothered that I was there. We are so lucky to have such a variety of birds locally.
