Reach for the sky by onewing

Reach for the sky

We had lunch at Fingal Bay today after the walking group walk. I didn't do the walk because my left knee was giving me trouble, but I went for the lunch afterwards. I took this shot of the trees by the Sports Club at Fingal Bay and it is so good to see the leaves on the trees coming back after our bush fire last October.

well this is stunning Babs - I often draw strange looks as I stand beneath a huge tree and look up - the B&W is awesome - a teary day today - this has made me smile

They are grand trees, I'm glad they are growing back again.

Lunch sounds good & you took some grand photos so a good day despite the knee!

Beautiful angle.

Great pov, and looks really good in b&w.

Where's the koala then?
May 15th, 2014
The vertical POV, gives height, tree looks very tall, Great shot Babs;)

What a majestic tree, looks very tall. Good news about the leaves!

@annied Thanks Annie. I have found that I just don't make eye contact with anyone when I am in strange positions taking photos. It just encourages them. ha ha. Sorry you are having a sad day, same here at the moment. Will email you today. I've been a bit drained too.
If you think I got funny looks taking this photo you should have been at the marina when I took pictures with my crystal ball. ha ha.

@creampuff Thanks so much Eve. I will check out your photo.

@netkonnexion Thanks so much. I just love gum trees and it is good to see them recover from our recent bush fires.
May 15th, 2014
@hermann Thanks so much Sally.

@gerry Thanks so much for the fav Gerry.

@karlow75 Thanks Kane. It is amazing how quick the bushland recovers apart from a few charred trees you wouldn't even know there had been a fire gone through. This one was deliberately lit and was so close to houses. We were very lucky.

@happypat Thanks Pat. Lunch was brilliant. I am okay walking, but going up stairs, climbing hills and putting my foot on the clutch on the car all cause problems with my knee. Had xrays to see what the problem is. always something to deal with. ha ha.

@helenmichelled @dolphin Thanks so much
May 16th, 2014
@chimfa Not in this tree. Wrong type for koalas
May 16th, 2014
@pcoulson @paulaw Thanks so much. It is a tall tree but probably looks taller because of the angle. Looking around the bushland here now apart from charring on some of the trees you wouldn't believe the difference since the bush fire went through last October. It doesn't take long for the bush to regrow.

WONDERFul b&w and fab POV!!!

Deb
Fantastic b&w! You must have been bending over backwards to get this fantastic POV.

@april16 @debilz @eyesmile @dgrynn Thanks so much. I am feeling much better today. Just have so many things to deal with since Zoe died that it gets a bit much sometimes.
I wasn't bending over backwards I was lying right by the tree with the camera pointing upwards. No wonder I get funny looks. ha ha.

@onewing As I keep saying - and meaning it - ain't nature wonderful? The humble gum-tree is so resilient isn't it?
May 16th, 2014
Great shot in b/w. Always look up.
May 16th, 2014
wow... huge!!
May 17th, 2014
@kathiecb Absolutely. I always look up. Reminds me of when I was in an exam when I was at school. The teacher said as she handed out our exam papers. "You can look up for inspiration, look down in desperation, but don't look sideways for information".
May 17th, 2014
@lafish Thanks Laurie. We have some pretty tall gum trees here.
May 17th, 2014
@onewing Haha. But that's how we all got thru
