Street Art - Day 10 by onewing

Street Art - Day 10

Ben foster is a Melbourne based street artist and today's painting is one of his artworks in an alley off Hunter Street Mall in Newcastle. It was painted last year I believe as part of the Street Art Walking Festival in Newcastle.

I have seen people have their wedding photos taken next to this artwork. Each to their own I suppose. Not because I don't like the artwork, it is just that I wouldn't have thought it would be an ideal background for a wedding photo.

today's main album photo

Beautiful birds. I like the different patterns!

This is different --a great capture of the different birds -- they look rather like bird transfers !

Interesting artwork. Must be quite effective to see for yourself.

@kwind @beryl Thank you both. A lot of Ben's work are stencils. Here are two stencils repeated. This is a website of his. http://www.cornerstoregallery.com/blog/2014/11/2/studio-shoot-with-ben-foster

@bella_ss Thanks, not difficult to find though. Newcastle is full of street art. they have three festivals a year over the last few years. The Hit the Bricks Festival, the TiNA (This is not Art its a lifestyle) festival and the Street Art Walking Festival. Lots of art and talented people around.

@pcoulson Thanks Peter. This chap does stencil street art.

@annied A wedding photo with this in the background wouldn't be too bad if it was in a different place. This part of Newcastle isn't too great. Put it this way, you wouldn't go there on a dark night.

@neatz Your brother would need a packed lunch to visit this street art. Surrey Hills Victoria is about 1000 km away from Newcastle in New South Wales. There is plenty of street art in Hosier Lane in Melbourne though.

@happypat Thanks Pat as I said to Sheralee, Newcastle has three festivals of street art each year and there are plenty of artworks to take photos of. Lots of talented people in Australia. I love going to Newcastle to take photos, lots of different things to take pictures of. It is about 60 km from where I live.
