Street Art - Day 12 by onewing

Street Art - Day 12

Today's street art was painted by a Central Coast of NSW artist who goes by the name of Tez.

This was part of the Street Art Walking Festival in Newcastle in 2011 and is called 'The world is your monster' It can be found just off Hunter Street Mall in Newcastle.

Thanks to everyone who commented on my b&w collage yesterday and my street art photo. I will try and catch up on your photos later this evening once I have had dinner, a cup of tea and a couple of panadol as I have got a splitting headache today.

Come to think of it my main album photo shows just how my head feels at the moment. ha ha

Great find, I wonder what was going through the artists mind.

The whole world is a monster from the deep - wow. It would be interesting to know if street art became more popular to try and stamp ugly graffiti on blank walls.

Much better today though. Maybe he had a bit of a headache when he painted this.

@ethelperry Newcastle hasn't had much of a problem with graffiti and the street art festivals started about 3 or 4 years ago. all the works in my theme are commissioned works. There are 3 main festivals each year. Street Art Walking, TiNA (This is not art its a lifestyle) and the Hit the Bricks festival. Artists congregate in Newcastle from all over Australia and also some overseas artists too.

@golftragic There are three main festivals in Newcastle. Hit the Bricks Festival, Street Art Walking and TiNA ( This is not art its a lifestyle). Each festival has artists commissioned to do their artworks at certain venues. The Hit the Bricks Festival gives all the details on their website and you can download a map to show you where each of the paintings can be found. http://lookhear.com.au/hit-the-bricks/ so it is quite easy to get the information on the artists.
