Street Art - Day 20 by onewing

Street Art - Day 20

Today's street art is by Thomas Jackson who is a Sydney artist. He illustrates, paints street murals and painstakingly creates smaller scale works for exhibitions and galleries. Reconstructing his inspirations from wild life & animals, dilapidated man-made structures and the everyday imagery of life.

I couldn't get a very good angle on this artwork as far as photography goes because it is on a rather narrow alleyway at Cooks Hill. It was painted as part of the Hit the Bricks Festival.

Today's main album photo -

It looks to tell a story. Pity it's not in a more accessible place

Very cool, looks like he has burst through the wall and heading to the open door on the truck :)

Well done Babs in capturing this lovely artwork, why do artist make it so difficult for us poor photographers to capture their work:)

@salza It was a bit of a squeeze to get the shot, but all the street art works for the Hit the Bricks festival are commissioned and of course, the people who own the properties have to agree to have these artworks painted on their walls. So I suppose they paint them where they can.

@april16 Thanks April, every year there is a festival in Newcastle and all the artworks are commissioned. This has been the second year for the Hit the Bricks Festival and there are two more festivals too, so lots of street art around.

@karlow75 @beryl @thistle @chimfa @hermann @pcoulson @darthkitty @happypat @mabuss @derekvickers @888rachel Thanks everyone, this artwork is a whale, but I don't know the significance of the splintered wood around him.

Here are a couple of links to his website, maybe you can find out. http://www.thomasjackson.com.au/
