I suddenly realised I had not got a photo for today - once again researching travel tripods!! I had another look through my Devon holiday photos and spotted this one. We were walking on the beach when I spotted this - can you see why I was shocked?
So what are you thinking of for travel tripod? I ran into a woman in Smoky Mountains who had a Dolica and I was impressed as it had many of my features of the MeFoto, but at less cost. Here's an article that covers them pretty well. http://m.thewirecutter.com/reviews/the-best-travel-tripod/ And if you are still considering pack, ask @taffy and @jyokota about my pack. They loved it...I think!! :)
You'd wonder if you were seeing straight yourself, encountering a painted pooch like this. I couldn't help but notice the gorgeous green slopes behind them. Beautiful greens!
Thanks for the comment and fav on my coffee cup picture yesterday. May there be a caffeine treat in your future soon!
@jyokota in all the reviews I have read on the bag ( a lot) no one mentions carrying a laptop? I just need to be sure I will be able to fit my Mac 13 inch ( recommended by Taffy) and also on my list of things I want to buy!
@pamknowler@jyokota I think Junko and I tested to see if ours fit -- Junko, do you remember if we did that? I vaguely remember that it did fit our 13" laptops.
@taffy@pamknowler -- @darylo can respond for sure, but I have the smaller version of that bag, and mine fits the same 13" Macbook Pro that Taffy has. I put it in the water bladder section. @darylo -- we were going to make a video of you demo-ing that bag!
I just want a tripod that doesn't fall apart in a year. Maybe I need to invest a little more money. But the first one I brought was more expensive and it fell apart too. Wish I had my old heavy one back. At least it never fell apart.
@darylo Daryl I have ordered the MeFoto Roadtrip carbon fibre tripod plus the 20L Flipside - just like yours in orange (£50 dearer in blue). At least they won't loose me!! LOL!! Many thanks for your help and advice!!
@pamknowler depends on size. We put @jyokota and @taffy laptops in at a tight fit but they did fit. If you get a water bladder, can only fit a narrow 1 litre one. Congratulations on bag. You will love and you will never get lost if you stray from group! And finally, the choice of the lighter MeFoto was good. While mine is heavier, it is the best tripod I have ever owned. The monopod feature is great too. You're going to live how tripod fits to side of bag and you will never have to unbuckle the pack as that waist belt is so firm and supportive. Yay you!
Nice beach to take a dog for a walk - particularly one with such fancy colouring! I took a tripod with me on my travels and haven't used it once. I always look around to see what I can lock the camera on to.
