As we came to a small town called Bootle I saw a sign for Beach and turned down the road. What a strange beach it was too!! You could park at the back of the beach and then had to climb over some large blocks of concrete which I assume is sea defence. The beach was large stones at the back and then flat sand which was great for us to walk on. Finlay loved it. As I looked out to sea I realised I could see the Isle of Man. I was so pleased to see it as my friend Sue lives there - I quickly texted her and told her to wave!! LOL!!
@motherjane How funny Jane!! It was pure chance that we drove down that road!! I always like to drive down roads I haven't been down before!! Love your dog shots!!
Just out of interest when you left the beach did you drive past a Gun Firing Range and then further on drive underneath a viaduct? Or did you go back the way you came.
@maggiemae I visited the IOM a few years ago and stayed with my friend Sue. It was beautiful and the towns had an old fashioned feel to them. I want to go back. We saw the cafe on our way home. As we took road that took us to the sea we bi-passed the cafe on our way up the coast. We didn't stop as Finlay was getting noisy in the back of the car telling us he wanted to go for a walk!!
@888rachel quite a chill wind blowing off the sea - you needed a light jumper or jacket. I think it was about 18. Degrees. The heat of last week when it reached 29 degrees only lasted a couple of days and it was the humidity which was horrible! It has been warmer in the South of England this week - Wimbledon had great weather! We are in the North of England - always a few degrees cooler. Rain forecast for tomorrow! Yes this is summer in England. But it wouldn't look so lush green and beautiful without it! Especially in Cumbria where it seems to have it's own weather system due to the mountains. Tuesday and Wednesday look more promising! Fingers crossed!
I heard that you had been down her but missed this shot. You would have driven right past motherjanes drive. She is down just past the viaduct and often gets marooned I by high tide. You probably drove right past my door too as you headed north on the A595. Yoou could have come in for a cuppa; it would be lovely to have met you and your gorgeous wee dog.
@callymazoo I hadn't realised there were so many 365ers living in this area!! Do you all meet up? Would have been good to have a meet up with you all - perhaps next time I come up here and I will leave my sister at home - she is not really into photography!! This week is a holiday for her though as she is recovering from her session of radiotherapy. I hope the weather picks up so we see the Lakes at their best!! Now following!!
@pamknowler There are 3 of us whom I know of.. @countrylassie introduced me and I introduced @motherjane. We all live within 5-20 mins drive from each other. Next time you are up ask for my number and we can try to meet up. Thanks for the follow.
@callymazoo what a shame I have only just "met" you all on 365! I am now following all of you! Fingers crossed I will get up this way again and if I do it would be lovely to meet you all properly!
