My partner bought me a telescopic lens to clip onto my iPhone for Christmas and this is one of my first attempts.
I took this slightly blurry shot in the cemetery last week from the bottom of the hill.
The weight of the lens is taking some getting used to and I'm having trouble keeping my hand still when taking the shot but I'm practising every day so hopefully the next one I post will be super sharp.
@dutchothotmailcom Thanks Esther. It's quite fiddly to use as it's universal for all phones so I have to get the lens just right over the view finder. I wanted it to get shots of the heron and the cormorants in my local park but I'm finding that by the time I've attached it, the birds have flown away!
I think as I use it more, I will get faster at attaching it and hopefully get some decent images. It wasn't expensive as I wanted to see if I liked it first before we splashed out on something of a better quality but I guess you get what you pay for.
I like the effect of this shot! Interesting to hear your thoughts on the clip on telephoto lens for your iPhone, because we had wondered about one for Katharine's phone. What you have to remember for any zoom is that the magnification exagerates any slight movement and tends to soften the sharpness of an image. To overcome the stability of my bridge camera, I have a very small cheap tripod that lives in the pocket on the top of my rucksack. It needs a wall or something solid to stand on (its only around 6 inch long), but it is very handy and reduces the shake risk quite a lot.
