Eagle eyed among you will notice I missed an upload on Thursday 03 March 2011
I did take some photos that day, but I was not particularly pleased with them.
However I think I ought to upload them in the spirit of 365, because we can not always post good shots (not that many of my shots fall into the 'good' category !!)
I called this 'Getting Ready For Spring', it may actually look like a close up study of a spring, but it is actually some garden wire to tie back plants and bushes.
The left hand shot is the wire shot against some white card and heavily converted to a contrasty black and white so you can see the imperfections in the card.
The right hand shot is a colour image showing the silver wire against some dark card.
The title reminds me that I will be using the wire to keep the garden tidy during the summer.
The images are very abstract and I think I prefer the left one as it is more minimalistic.
I like the left one too -it would be a nice shot in it's own right - the focus is great - a great title too, gives so many dimensions!!!
I didn't like any photos i took one day last week too and was going to cheat by uploading a different day (and I promised I wouldn't!) but I decided to crop a photo I had taken of Mezze from a meal we had - was glad I did it - after all it reminds me of the day and actually the picture wasn't that bad - just my standards are getting higher!!
@sparkle Juliette, thanks for the c omments and thanks for the encouragement. I'm always a little nervous when uploading because there are so many great images on here and you always want to maintain a high standard, but then again someone might like what I think is an 'average shot from Phil' . @patsyjphillips Patsy, yes I think the left side is better, but I always like black and white so I don't always look at an image too objectively because black and white always tends to win in my eyes. Thanks for looking
@phil_howcroft what surpirses me most Phil, is that even on the shots you hate, there is always someone who spots something they like - I've got a number of shots I hated when I uploaded and the fab 365 community have taught me how to love those shots!! I think we probably learn more from these than the ones that get loads of views and favs!!
