A Selfie at Wembley - I predicted the dismal loss !!

This isn't a picture from Monday it's a Sunday picture.

I've not done a 'selfie', 'self portrait' yet and I am not too comfy about you having to suffer an image of me on here, but when I looked at the pictures I'd took of my trip to the FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley, I had a wry smile on my face (my face when I looked at the pics not my face in the pics !!), because as I am waving to my mate Bill, I am showing FIVE with my hand !!

Little did I know my team would lose 5-0 !!!

This was taken an hour before kick off, inside the stadium, the mood among the Bolton was excitement and all full of anticipation ...Oh how that bubble burst 11 minutes into the game.

Eeek , there you go a selfie of my bad day on Sunday !!!

Good job you didn't wave both hands at the camera - the score could have been worse!! I like stadium shots - they are full of colour. I've been enjoying some family shots from the Blackpool promotion game at the end of last season - the orange looks great and the emotions are raw - elation and tears. Sorry you lot didn't get the elation bit....

Looks like you were having fun..a good "selfie"
April 20th, 2011
@judithg HA Ha Judith, if I was waving both hands it would have been 5-5 , now that would have been some match !!!! I agree stadiums make good shots, I did get some great shots both inside and outside the stadium on Sunday :)

@patsyjphillips Thanks Patsy, it was 'fun' until Bolton started leaking goals !!!
April 20th, 2011
great shot Phil, good job we get to see you at the start of the match and not the end - never good to see a grown man crying LOL!! cool shot - love the colours and the starting of the staduim atmosphere!
April 20th, 2011
Well, there you are. Sorry about the dismal game! But I love your selfie in Wembley Stadium! I love the scarf - is that typical fan gear in the UK? It's Harry Potter-ish to me which is always GOOD! Can't wait for HP7P2!!
April 20th, 2011
Ah well at least you're still smiling here. The five fingered wave was a bit ironic!! Isn't it strange what we take for granted ie wearing your team's scarf is unknown to others. As they say, there's always next season! lol
April 20th, 2011
How prophetic! - I could tell it was before because you're smiling!
April 20th, 2011
Quick, get some lottery numbers down off the top of yer head..good pre-match shot, soaking up the atmosphere.

@meredithwb you want a Bradford City F.C scarf for that Harry Potter look...sales rocketed and possibley helped keep the club alive when the 1st film came out.
April 20th, 2011
You look so happy!! Great smile!! Sorry your team lost! Maybe next time they will win!!
April 20th, 2011
You look excited, pity it went all wrong ! The perils of following a football team but you have to have the lows to experience the highs ! Better luck next time !
April 20th, 2011
It's a lovely photo Phil - that wave is like you're predicting the score. Next time wave with a closed fist!! You really look excited though - what a shame the game didn't work out positively!
April 20th, 2011
@sparkle Juliette, ha ha, I did not cry at the end, I just legged it as quick as I could to get out of the stadium and onto the tube . I did see one little boy (a Bolton fan), crying on the tube , upset at his teams defeat, real tears running down his cheeks :(
April 20th, 2011
@meredithwb Football scarfs a bit 'retro' a throw back to the 60's and 70's when that's all fans wore :)..The common fan gear in the UK is replica shirts (same as the players wear), club colour wolly hats in the winter, baseball caps in the summer / spring, jester hats for big occassions !!

I used to wear a replica Bolton shirt when they had a sponsors logo of Reebok on them, but like most football clubs in the Premiership, Bolton now have an online betting / gambling logo on the shirt and I refuse to wear one with one of those on !!!

@Cherrill Thanks Cherrill, always next year ...hmmm possibly...but we missed out big time :(
April 20th, 2011
@robinmersh Ahh Robin, you know I always smile :)
April 20th, 2011
@sleepdozer57 Cheers Peter, yes soaking up the atmosphere, pre match is always a good time..anticipation / excitement in abundance
April 20th, 2011
@kerristephens Thanks Kerri, I'm always quite happy :)
April 20th, 2011
@happypat Ha Ha Pat....we've had lots of lows with Bolton in the 40+ years I've watched them !!
April 20th, 2011
@gill Thanks Gill, I couldn't wave with a clenched fist, it's looks a bit aggressive ...and I can't do aggressive !!!...lol...ahh well we lost, I'm over it now :)
April 20th, 2011
This is a great self portrait! the atmosphere is great! Good job!
April 21st, 2011

April 22nd, 2011
Great selfie. Shame your team got thrashed, an old cycling pal of mine is a big fan - she must have been totally gutted too.
April 22nd, 2011
@phil_howcroft Oh Phil, I never for amoment envisaged an aggressive clenched fist ... I was only thinking of a sort nil for the other team! Glad you're over it now though!
April 22nd, 2011
Great happy selfie, well done. Self portraits are really hard, Ive never managed one that I can stand the sight of but I love when other people do them.
April 23rd, 2011
You and Ken would get on well - he's a Liverpool supporter and a football fanatic! Always has been - he used to play well too!
April 25th, 2011
