This is a different fuchsia from the same basket, shot from underneath the basket looking upwards.
As it was shot against the blue sky I did not need to worry about creating a bokeh effect, so set the camera to aperture priority and got a high as possible aperture on the long zoom (200mm) that would guarantee no camera shake.
I got a f10 aperture, set the AV to -0.7 (to compensate for a slightly darker background) and this is the net result.
I don't know if I should have cropped the green leaf out, but that would mean the flowers being very close to the top of the frame.
You can see a few water droplets on the freshly watered flowers.
I hope this fuchsia lives up to the other fuchsia shot
Goodness I like this one even better than the last pink one ! The red flower against the blue sky is just beautiful Phil ! You can almost reach out & touch it & the I think you did right leaving the leaf on as it shows where the flower joins the stem otherwise they would be just two flowers hanging down. Thanks for telling us how you shot it too !!
You have excelled yourself with this one Phil it is perfect green leaf and all. Congrats on getting the other one on PP I told you it was a cracker! My bike and gnarled tree made PP - only 2nd time for me :-)
@whippeteer thanks frances your bike was a super shot and fully deserved it's PP status...i think i've made it here 3 times, but I've no idea how it works !
