I've downloaded an 'open source' photo editor...'the gimp'
It's free and is a serious piece of photo editing software that has many features of Photoshop CS
I used to have GIMP on my old laptop, but the user interface was a bit clumsy. The new version is very user friendly and after a few minutes I was creating the image shown above.
I have Photoshop Elements on my laptop but it does not have features such as layer masks.
Anyway here is Ruby, on a slide film, looking pensive and attentive as my wife talks to her ..OK a bit gimmicky ...but the software does seem feature rich and I might try a few more little editing techniques using it !
@sleepdozer57 cheers Peter. I've had Photoshop Elements (PSE) for a couple of years and it is quite easy to use.
I quite like 'open source' stuff though, developed by the online community..I have 'open office', I use Mozilla Firefox as a browser and so I thought I'd give GIMP a go too. First Impressions of GIMP are that as a freebie it has more features than PSE and is relatively easy too.
You pays yer money (PSE) or if you want a free open source editor go for GIMP
Love your man good things we have only had female ones up to now so good to see what a mans good things feature. Mostly gardening & football, there's a surprise!!! Only teasing!!! Love this photo of the lovely Ruby I think it shows all her good points....perky ears, a noble profile, kind eyes & a beautiful white throat. I must look into Gimp!
@tishpics patricia, tumbling tomatoes, grown in tubs / baskets hanging on the wall / trellis, i save some of the pips / seeds each year and recycle them into next years tumbling tomatoes :)
Well, clever you!! I downloaded Gimp about 2 months ago, haven't the foggiest what to do!! ha ha techno idiot me!! Gorgeous shot of Ruby, she looks so sharp and alert........I'm with you on the tomatoes though have never ever had so many, did mine in big pots this year, just fab!!
You've got your name on the film too Phil! Looks really sharp, now I'm wondering about my rhubarb - I picked some in August but it was woody - I noticed it had had another flurry so if I pick the new stalks they should be ok??
Be interested how you get on with it.
Is pse fairly user friendly - have thought about maybe giving it a go at some distant point.,
