I'm off work today and tomorrow and this morning we walked to 'pets at home' to replace a new coat we'd bought for Ruby. We guesses the size ...and guessed wrong...it was too tight around the whippet chest.
Ruby came with us and the walk took us through the local civic park.
I took what I thought were a few nice autumnal shots of the trees in the park, but the light was so gloomy and dreary, the shots were too noisy and soft.
So this is what you get, A picture of a 'victorian style' lamp against the autumn leaves.
There was a lot of morning dew on the lamp and you can see the wetness of the sides of the glass, which has resulted in the fuzzy light
Talking of 'dew', Ruby bit her 'dew' claw off !!! A trip to the vets was in order. The vet said she was 'a very clever whippet', because most dogs who tear / rip a dew claw have to come to the vets to have them repaired and she (Ruby) had done a very neat job in fixing it !!! An antibiotic jab followed to stop the 'healing tender bit' getting infected.
Bumped into the deputy leader of the council (the council offices are in the park) and had a chat to him .......he's only a young man ...25 years old...a friend of my eldest daughter.....school friends for years. He will do well in politics ...my wife said he will be an MP in a few years time and expects him to have a high profile in his party in years to come.
Phew hat's a lot of comments on this little picture !!!
Love the way your comments act as a journal. As you reread this in the months ahead you will remember the natter ( Did I use the word correctly?) with the up and coming politico and Ruby's clever self-surgery and just the way the light shone on the leaves. Sounds like a very full and pleasant day.
Lovely contrast with the blue lamp..so frustrating with all this abundant colour around at the moment and grey skies so everything looks so dreary! Sounds like quite a full day, enjoy your 2 days off!!
Love the text Phil, hope Ruby's claw healing ok. B has 2 huge dew claws and I am just waiting for them to cause him trouble. Love your shot, the blue looks great against the leaves.
Lovely shot Phil. Blimey Ruby needs to talk to Monty about reducing vet bills instead of pushing them up! I have had exactly the same problem with the light - very disappointing pics.
Ruby is worth every penny you spend on her I bet but you have had an expensive week!!! Dog coats aren't cheap but she just got hers in time, rather cold here today.
What are the street lamps doing on at 10.12am you should tell your young man there is a recession on...or is there ? Mind you it makes for an interesting glow against the lovely leaves.
cool shot Phil - i've never heard of a dog biting their own dew claw off! still, seems she did it well! I need to get myself a new coat or I'm going to be chilly in the next couple of weeks!
@tishpics thanks patrivia, i think my post processing has enhanced the colours a tad too much, the lampost is not quit that 'blue', more a grey/blue !!!
@allie912 allison, thank you for your words...natter is a chat between ppl...so hey as i'm talking to all my 365 friends...natter is quite right in context !
