This is a hand held shot from the 'City Of Nottingham' firework display held at the Forest Recreation Ground, to celebrate Bonfire Night
I should have took my tripod and DSLR , but the event attracts thousands of people and I decided I just wanted to enjoy the spectacular free show.......and it was spectacular !!
Is Bonfire Night Guy Fawks Day? My father used to go around the house declaiming, "Please to remember the fifth of November, gunpowder, treason and plot." I hope I'm remembering that right.
nice fireworks shot Phil - I did my first ones this year - trickier than it looks! liek the starburst here, a nice shot for a handheld - the old Panny is good for this stuff huh?
@sparkle juliette it is indeed good....there's a TZ30 out at the moment......with full control ..my little panny has no aperture priority or shutter priority....the TZ30 has GPS and still has a leica lens...I'm tempted :)
@phil_howcroft i'm resisting too - my TZ20 has GPS - I rarely use it as it drains the battery quite quickly - but it gets used a lot and will be due up for renewal some time soon!!
@sparkle juliette, yes i read in a review that GPS drains the battery, but the added features of aperture priority and shutter priority gives you a tad more flexibility and creativity...i also read you can only charge it on a cradle , rather than a separate battery charger.....I might upgrade my DSLR instead....especially with a wedding next year
