Student Colours

We went to Aldi this afternoon to stock up on Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Dishwasher Tablets ("Which best buy") and other assorted bargains.

Our nearest Aldi is in Radford. Opposite Aldi is the old John Players Headquarters.

This part of the complex has been converted to student accommodation. The brightly coloured front was worthy of a picture.

I don't know if I should have cropped the brickwork off the top of the shot...Perhaps a glass and coloured verticals works better


Large converging verticals help create an unusual perspective.

An excellent shot Phil. I like the brickwork at the top too. Brilliant reflections and great pov. Fav! We have a Lidl's near us and swear by their clothes washing products.

Harry & I had a blind tasting session of mince pies tonight. We tried M&S, Aldi luxury ones, Aldi Cheapest & Booths.....I liked the cheapest Aldi ones & Harry liked the M&S ones but tot be truthful there was nothing in it!!!

Great student accommodation./....I am rather a coniessuer of student accommodation after my rounds of the unis this year...this looks rather nice, is it for Nottingham? I put my hand over the brickwork & it could possibly look better but hey it's another feature so is fine.

This is quite dizzyingly good Phil. I don't mind the brickwork at the top and the converging lines give a sense of scale. The colours are terrific.

@happypat thanks Pat.....the student accommodation is independent....not linked to any of our two nottingham uni's......it's quite the norm now independent companies to run big blocks of accommodation

Oh i love this architecture feature! I think it would dramatize the color blocks more without the top brick strip, but hey, it's interesting too. and lined up more with the horizontal window lines, or is that my eyes? i just love the happy verticals! very nice indeed!
