Urban Scrap Basford by phil_howcroft

Urban Scrap Basford

Part of my lunch time work walking route.

Colson scrap yard in Basford with winter clouds, winter trees and a colourful frontage filling a slot on my 365.

Edited in Rawtherapee with a pseudo ND Filter for the sky and a Kodak Portra 400 film emulation
It certainly looks like a scrap yard....the colours are very scrap yard like ! That car needs to move out of the way, I know it's nowhere near that crane but it's very nicely poised!

@happypat thanks pat , I keep thinking I've fully photographed Basford, but there is always something new to capture. The River Leen is just out of shot ...well a culvert wall, diverting it around the industrial units and under the road is just out of shot

I always enjoy your description of your processing choices. I usually only understand a bit if what you write, but I find it very impressive. BYW, love the graphics on the fence.

It looks like a very busy scrapyard. The advert on the wall make it look less unattractive. Lovely capture.

Very urban...nicely shown, Phil.

I like the splashes of red in this and the forced persective is rather fun - the scrap in the grab makes it look like a large magnet that is about to attach itself to the roof of the car and lift it over the hoarding!

You don't see so many scrap yards now ..... fab shot and I like the processing too :)

@happypat

It does look rather inopportune! I like all the scrapyard colour combinations, Phil.
