Colourful image. Interesting how quickly we get past the novelty in our daily surroundings (like these hoardings) and cease to notice them, like the passers-by in your shot.
@phil_howcroft Yes, I think thoughtful photographers are mostly more observant than others but even we are in danger of becoming so familiar with sights that we no longer take much or any notice them.
I have been to the steam museum at Kew Bridge many times, it's a place I love and it's not so far from me. I find I have to ration my visits and take a break every now and then, though, otherwise I stop seeing possibilities.
However, I think the general tendency of we human beings to become quickly familiar with our surroundings is an aspect of our ability to adapt speedily to new situations (think how often you've said, or heard spmeone say: 'however did we manage before ... such-and-such,' naming a relatively recent innovation) and it's one of the abilities we possess that has ensured our survival as a species.
