It was Nottingham Pride yesterday. A great street party and event.
My wife and I always plan a visit to Nottingham to coincide with Pride. I normally hang about at the start of the parade looking for strangers while my wife does some retail therapy and then we both follow the parade through the city.
My wife broke her foot 3 weeks ago and we sort of decided our normal routine wasn't practical.
I got bit / stung on Thursday in the record high temperatures and my face swelled up, so I only decided to go to town at the last moment,
I missed the start of the parade, so no strangers shots ( you cannot really do a stranger interview during the parade as it is really noisy and not practical
It rained for most of the walk and rained for the street events too.
I photographed these two ladies last year.. They were selling hand made soya wax melts, to create beautiful aromas.
When I saw them on the stall I introduced myself as the photographer who photographed them last year.. They remembered me (as I'd sent them the pics) and we had a little chat. I asked them for a 2019 pic ans here it is.
I also apologised to Vicky on the right hand side of the frame as last year I failed to recognised her as an actor from the Police Thriller "Line Of Duty",
The lighting was difficult as it was a grey day and they were under a market stall canopy.
Good to catch your photos Phil, you & I are out of kilter so I don’t seem to see you often! These are two gorgeous ladies...they look happy to see you again...great portraiture! Fave. Hope face & foot heal soon!
A wonderful pair of smiling ladies - you have certainly caught their happy, zest for life , smiley faces ! Hope tour face and your wife's foot heals quickly !
What a wonderful portrait of these two lovely ladies! How great to see Vicky in the shot! One of my favourites from my all time favourite TV programme!
Fav. Should be double fav because you took two wonderful portraits and not one. I think I remember the previous photo. Sorry to hear about your wife's mishap. I hope she will be ok very soon.
Two beautiful and photogenic ladies... Lucky you to get one of Vicky McLure although given her attachment to and passion for Nottingham she's bound to cross the path of a patient photographer sooner or later! Fav
That was fortuitous that you found these two again and took such a lovely portrait of them together. I'm afraid I would be no good at recognising anyone since I rarely watch anything at all on television. I do hope you and your wife will be back to full health again soon.
