This is a MIR-1 Lens, the latest addition to my vintage lens collection.
I photographed it with a Helios 44M-4 vintage lens
If you read the lens markings, the MIR-1 is a 37mm f2.8 prime lens. The Serial Number indicates it is from 1970 and the little symbol tells you it is from the ZOMZ factory (ЗОМЗ). The Zagorsk Optical and Mechanical Plant (ZOMZ) is based in Zagorsk, Russia, 50 km north-east of Moscow. Founded in 1935 the factory manufactures a wide range of optical mechanical and optical electronic devices. Lenses that Zagorsk produced are the Jupiter 3, Orion 15, Mir 1, Mir 1b and Tair 3A.
37mm is quite an unusual focal length, so i am looking forward to using it. It is in an M42 mount, but when I attached it to my Sony A6000 via an adapter it would not focus. The solution was to but a little M43/L39 bridge between the adapter and lens and this allowed the lens to work.
The Helios I took the photo with is renowned for it's beautiful bokeh and at f2 it produced some rather delicious Christmas Tree bokeh in the background.
I think you may officially have been a vintage lens geek for some time! ;-)
Fun capture and yes, the bokeh is rather delightful. I think I see a little selfie reflection in the lens too?
I think you are Phil but all in reading in value surely so all good. A wise thing to collect, using them & collecting them is an excellent plan. Lovely bokeh! !
You must be with all the vintage lenses you bought since I befriended on 365. Even your words are too complicated for me image what all those lenses would be. I like your capture and the clear reflections on the lens. And, of course, the bokeh is so sharp and clear.
