On Wednesday I went on an analogue photowalk organised by Make It Easy Lab and Lens Fayre. Analogue Photo Walk ? That’s people who take photos with film, proper old school photography. Over 30 photographers and my whippet Elsie, met at Lens Fayre in Sneinton and then walked through the city of Nottingham taking photos.
As we made our way through Hockley we saw a massive queue of people snaking from Rough Trade Records all the way up Hockley.
I approached a couple of people in the queue and asked what was happening. Meet Phoenix and Nico, who told me it was an in-store signing by musician Ashnikko. It was a paid for promotion, customers / fans got a signed copy of Weedkiller (Ashnikko’s latest album) and a change to meet Ashnikko. I told Phoenix and Nico I was on a photowalk and asked if I could take their photo with my film camera (Olympus OM20 and Zuiko 50mm lens). They both said yes and I took a couple of photos. Elsie was stood beside me and was really popular with everyone near to us in the queue
I thanked them for the photo and walked back to the group. Nico ran over to me and asked if I was on social media. I said yes but the film photos would be a while before they were processed and asked them if they wanted some shots with a digital camera (I had my little Sony RX100VII in my pocket). I went back to the queue and took the photos you see, we exchanged Instagram account and all added each other. Phoenix’s account states she is a skater and self trained SFX make up artist (and very good at it btw)
Thanks for letting me photograph you both and I hope you had a great meeting with Ashnikko and like these photos. BTW : Ashnikko is an American singer, rapper, and songwriter.
@busylady thanks Judith , it was great that many of the photographers were young people (20s, 30s). I was the eldest person there. Film photography is hip and trendy . Some great cameras on display too !
