Cufflinks by phil_sandford

Cufflinks

My cufflinks from last night’s dinner; they are a miniature representation of the rank badge for a British Army Warrant Officer Class One, the rank I held on my discharge after 24 years; a rank that is not quite God, not quite, but is certainly up there and absolutely bomb proof.

I first saw these on the wrists of a serving WO1 at a graduation dinner I attended around 10 years ago and at the time I said that I liked them. When that WO1 was commissioned around 4 years later, prior to his dining out of the Warrant Officer & Sergeant’s Mess and his promotion to Captain, he presented me with a pair of the WO1 cufflinks and a pin badge all of which he’d had made just for me. I’ve worn them to every FoS (IS) dinner since.

Thank you for your views, comments and favs on yesterday’s offering. Much appreciated.
What a wonderful story and nice close up to go with it.
