I love the trees in our garden, all of them; they provide colour, shade, flowers and with our 'mystery tree' a whole gambit of ever changing leaves. However, come this time of year they are an absolute royal pain in the proverbial.
Tomorrow is the last green bin collection for 2021, so I have left the leaves to fall and went out this lunchtime for a last rake. I even shook every branch of the Magnolia to maximise the leaf fall.
I'll be raking up for a few more weeks yet, but they will have to go into black bags and be driven to the council tip
Keep your black bags!!! Let them sit and turn into leaf mould. Do feel your pain.... we have 7 trees in our/next door garden and its a mini mission to clear all the leaves!
I like the way you put it together in a series. We would agree with you about the pickup and we do love our trees also. Fortunately we get greens bin pickup every other week all year.
What a job, luckily the many trees in our garden are natives and they lose their leaves all year round and not in one big batch. We can also mow them up and they feed the garden.
