This is a new one for me, we’ve never had a Brambling in the garden before. In fact, he shouldn’t even still be here, he should be back in Scandinavia by now (or possibly northern Scotland). The RSPB book I have says they may rarely visit garden feeders if ‘the winter is particularly harsh and their staple feed of ‘Beech Mast’ is not to be found.’
Think this one may well be just taking the easy option
