On the road to Oberon

Rural post boxes again, can't help it. A long day trip to Oberon today with not much stopping for photo ops. There were quite a number of scenic groupings of letter boxes and we nearly got run over grabbing this one! See car disappearing out of sight.

I love these mailboxes. They appear to be so far away from any homes. Are they big because people don't stop and get their mail everyday or because the drums are readily available. Also, if this is the road style you traveled all day, it would appear to make your ride a long one not just because of distance.

@randystreat Hi Kathy, its probably a bit of a drive up the road to their properties and the post box needs to be big enough to take anything that might be delivered and keep it dry out of the rain. Or maybe they had a special on these drums:)
