Eucalyptus forest

On the back roads in the high country we found this beautiful piece of gum forest and just had to stop for a photo - or 10.

I can imagine the smell of all that eucalyptus! Any koala bears or kookaburras kicking around? I always visualise them up in the gum trees! Lovely shot.

Nice lines. Whenever I see the term "gum tree" the prase from the song "Kookaberra sits in the old gum tree" begins running through my head. I'm glad to see what this looks like. They are so very tall. Much taller than our eucalyptus here.

@jamibann @randystreat well we did see a kookaburra but no koalas around here. Did see my first alive wild wombat though!

@pusspup Oh, how absolutely fabulous!!! I remember sitting holding a wombat in a zoo in Perth a few years back. It was enormous, and so relaxed it was untrue. You have some fabulous nature in Australia. Koalas remain my absolute favourite though.
