Bird watching

We managed to get onto a bird watching 'cruise' at Karumba. The crew played birdsongs over loud speakers and the birds came down to investigate. Most of the birds were so tiny and quick it was very challenging to shoot them. I was pretty happy with this Shining bronze cuckoo.

Excellent shot- Audubon would be pleased! One night, a few years ago now, we had a Barred Owl in the woods behind our house. It was a cool evening and we had the windows open so my husband pulled up the Barred Owl call on our computer and put the volume up and played it to see what would happen. The "live" owl came right to our backyard- calling away to let the intruder know who's territory it was. It was too dark to see him in the tree but I wished I could have gotten his picture!
