Just back from the vet's with Jinks (his paw is at last healing really well), I went into the garden for some inspiration for today's pic & found this white spider on a Japanese anemone. I've never seen a white spider before but he seemed to blend in with the flower buds quite well. First he hid under the petals and then he did a little dance all round the edge of the anemone. His body seemed to sometimes change from white to pale yellow or pale green - perhaps my fancy but I haven't been drinking champagne for breakfast...........
Fantastic shot Hazel. Love the soft colours and the contrast of the icky spider.

Glad to hear Jinks is on the mend. Love this amazing macro. Such detail, you were very lucky to capture this little albino spider. Perhaps he can change colour to hide from preditors. A great capture!

Hey why don't we all do champagne cocktails or pink champagne for breakfast this weekend and post them next week? Oh forgive me for deviating - love the spider. The pink and white colours make for an enchanting photo. Has the spider been into the champagne or is he trying to kick you? LOL

@Cherrill Umm, bit of googling since I posted this and indeed it seems to be a crab spider, also called a flower spider & they do change colour but not very quickly. Champagne for breakfast? Maybe on 22nd of this month to celebrate 42 years of married bliss!!!!!!! What does one have with it - full English???!!!

@creativeamateur Thank you - I thought this was a white cocolate spider when I first spied him!! It seems white spiders can change colour as you suggest. (Yes thank goodness Jinks is getting better.)

@Cherrill Thank you! It's pretty unbelievable to me!!! That sounds good - bucks fizz and we have a ready supply of croissants at Tesco Express down the road (that does NOT sound very romantic!!)

Very nice capture, good focus, composition and subject matter. I don't think I've ever seen a crab spider.
