'oops'

So we were invited to our friends' house for tea and cake yesterday. And so I thought I'd take my new camera with me in case they were interested. Which they did seem to be, so I gave it to one of them and said: "Have a look. Take a shot if you want."
I was just explaining a couple of things about the camera when I heard a click.
So here I am in full (ex) teacher flow............
Love it !! such a lovely candid photo --you were really in good flow here !! and as another ex teacher who always & still does "talk with her hands " this camera does tale extremely well defined photos ! Super --have fun with your new camera :-)

Super shot, Hazel, I hope they were paying attention! Did you test them afterwards. (Otherwise 100 lines!)

@ivan

It really does look like that, doesn't it?! Had no idea that's how I looked in 'front of class'!!!

@beryl

I do like this new camera but didn't know it would be used as a 'weapon' against me! And as for the hands - no idea either!
August 17th, 2013
Oh it could be so much worse, trust me I know:0)
Nice 'action' shot
August 17th, 2013
Hazel - this has to be a Fav! You are caught completely off-guard and you look super!! You are serious, that's true, but it just shows your earnest commitment to photography!! Love, love, love it!!
August 17th, 2013
Well that shows you must have explained how to take a very good portrait shot
August 17th, 2013
Cute story and a very nice shot of you.
August 17th, 2013
Great shot and a fun story :-)
August 17th, 2013
Lovely photo of you and it shows you are a good instructor. LOL

@tishpics

What a fool! What was it I said? 'Take a shot'..... Thank you for the fav, Patricia. It's your fault I guess for calling me 'queen of the unexpected selfie'. It really is quite funny to see oneself as others see you! (I'm quite earnest about most things!)

Thanks for all your comments. One thing's for sure: I'm gonna be watching that friend next time we see him!

August 17th, 2013
Hahaa well that's a proper candid shot!
August 17th, 2013
Didn't somebody mention before the lady of the unexpected selfies, that's a lovely one
August 17th, 2013
@khirsch

Thanks - you have a good memory!
August 17th, 2013
@judithg

Very unexpected!
August 17th, 2013
Nice to see you !
August 17th, 2013
Great "accidental" shot
August 17th, 2013
@purplehaze12

Yep, not accidental on somebody's part!
August 18th, 2013
@chris17

Yes but would you have wanted to be in my class?!!
August 18th, 2013
Funny how we really have a teacher mode that just clicks on and we are on a roll. I recognize the hand thing in myself.
August 18th, 2013
@pandorasecho

I think there is more than a grain of truth in the saying that teachers are born not made!
August 18th, 2013
I love this community!! Look at how all of us former teachers can relate to each other-- and you, of course-- about the hands! Quite a lovely shot of you, too!
August 18th, 2013
You looking great on this lovely pic.
August 18th, 2013
A great shot of you in action :)
August 18th, 2013
fav such a lovely photo of you Hazel
August 19th, 2013
@gerry

Oh thanks, Gerry!
August 19th, 2013
@barbcapecod
Thank you!
Ray is starting to have the idea that we are ALL ex-teachers on here!
I think once a teacher, one always has a need to communicate knowledge?!
August 19th, 2013
@quietpurplehaze your Welcome Hazel hope yourself and Ray and Jinks have had a great weekend , have a lovely day .
August 19th, 2013
@gerry

Yes it was lovely at the water gardens thanks, Gerry and today I am busy walking Jinks, going for a swim, going to German group and then cooking roast chicken dinner! Have a good week yourself!
August 19th, 2013
From the expression on your face and the hand gestures you were a brilliant teacher! - and I don't think we ever stop - once a teacher......
August 23rd, 2013
@exidia

It's amazing how many teachers and ex-teachers there seem to be on 365 - or is it that we just cluster together like bees or butterflies?!
August 23rd, 2013
@quietpurplehaze You're right! I think it's our sociability and active minds that keep us busy and make us join in with things! My husband, something of a solitary wasp given the chance, despairs of me!
August 25th, 2013
Not planning to change anytime soon though!
