Pepperbox Hill is at a high point on the chalk ridge south-east of Salisbury and is topped by an early example of a brick folly.
The folly is thought to have been built by Giles Eyre of Brickworth House. Ray found information online that Mr Eyres wanted to 'look down on his neighbours' but according to the National Trust website 'it may have served as a viewpoint for ladies following the hunt, a haunt for highwaymen and a lookout post for the home guard.'
Perhaps 'look down on' wasn't meant in a derogatory sense!
Susie, I'm not too courageous driving out of my area but if you could get over to me near Eastleigh, I know lots of fabulous places around here for a photoshoot which I could drive you to. In a couple of months I could make my email available on my or your page and we could take it from there? (I do a good lunch too!!!)
When the summer comes we could think about a photoshoot - perhaps?!

The feeling is reciprocated - I shan't forget!
