What an interesting start to the digital photography workshop yesterday. Colin, the tutor, is obviously very passionate as well as very knowledgeable in his subject and presented us with a diagram of the workings of a digital camera which even my non-techie brain could understand. He also gave us each a copy of an A-Z manual of terminology of digital photography which he had produced.
Driving home I suddenly remembered an old photo album in which my dad, a keen photographer, had labelled each photo with the settings used,so I thought it would be appropriate for a shot today (and I've now found b/w on my camera.)
I know I still have loads to learn but it's amazing how my brain seems much more tuned in to the camera manual and the camera today.
(It snowed in Claydon, Suffolk in Jan 1960 and we got a pug puppy for Christmas 1959. The best childhood Christmas present ever I think.)
A small and belated September update for 2024, where I am still, after many years' membership, on 365 Project, also now posting elsewhere but wanting...
How wonderful you are following in dads footsteps Hazel, he obviously passed his photography gene on to you!!! So good to get proper tuition...I mean to do the same but never get round to it somehow!
It always seemed that it was the men who used to take the photos - but that has changed, the same as it was the man driving the car but not so now?!
Nice shot and info.
Oh yes, Tracey, I knew we had something important in common!
Yes, I know what you mean - I don't think it's to do with the photography!!
