'shadows' - glasses for the dining table

These were on display in The Red House when we visited and the design is by Philip Webb, who was also the architect for William Morris's house.

Morris had the reputation for being a generous and genial host who enjoyed his food with a particular love for French food and wine. Georgiana, the wife of Morris's friend Burne-Jones, recalled: 'It was the most beautiful sight in the world to see Morris coming up from the cellar before dinner, beaming with joy, with his hands full of bottles of wine and others tucked under his arms.'

Morris believed that good design and the good life were inseparable.

@cabawg

I think I shall put William Morris on the list of poeple I should like to meet from history which already has Vivaldi and van Gogh on it - not that it will profit me in any way!!

I do agree, you've captured this beautifully, and there's a lovely reflection - either that or some "ghost glasses" hiding behind!
